Aerotek Wiring Technician in Lafayette, Indiana

Description:

Job Title: Wiring Technician

Job Description

As a Wiring Technician, you will be tasked with wiring the inside of custom designed switchboards and switchgear. These 90 inch tall switchboards are mechanically assembled using hand and power tools. Once the frame is built, electrical wiring is done on the inside door of each column of the unit. You will be expected to do some grunt assembly, but the main focus will be on the electrical wiring. Each switchboard is custom designed, so in theory no two switchboards are the same. You will use a blueprint of the outer frame and a schematic for the internal wiring to determine what wires, parts, etc. are needed to complete the job. Once the wiring is done, you will use small testing equipment (training will be provided) to make sure the wiring components work, and then let your manager know. The manager will check your work and you'll move on to the next job.
