Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintains the Train Management & Control (TMAC) and Positive Train Control (PTC) systems with an emphasis on network and Linux Administration.

• Configure and maintain Cisco switches (VLANs, Trunks, SPAN ports) and Cisco ASA Firewalls (Site-to-site VPNs, ACLs, and NAT translation).

• Write Python code for database maintenance and problem solving/investigation.

• Provide support for TMAC/PTC end users.

• Flexible to work varied schedules as directed and available to respond on short notice if needed.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications :

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related area, from US Department of Education, accredited college, or university.

• One (1) year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.

• Experience with bare-metal hypervisors (VMWare ESXi a plus)

• Experience with OpenVPN

• Experience with LAMP stacks

• Familiarity with industrial control protocols (Modbus, DNP3)

• Any working knowledge of railroad operations and railroad signaling systems

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential:

• CCNA, CompTIA Linux

• • Strong Python skills

• SQL database administration experience (Oracle)
