Robert Half Security Engineer in Jacksonville, Florida

Description

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of our organization. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding our systems, networks, and data from cyber threats by implementing security controls, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Security Architecture Design: Design and implement security solutions and architectures to protect the organization's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. Develop security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Security Tool Implementation: Deploy and configure security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus software, endpoint protection, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems. Monitor security alerts and incidents to identify and respond to potential security breaches.

  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications. Prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner to reduce the organization's exposure to cyber threats.

  • Incident Response and Forensics: Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to effectively respond to security incidents and breaches. Lead incident response efforts to contain, mitigate, and recover from security incidents. Conduct digital forensics investigations to determine the root cause of security breaches and recommend corrective actions.

  • Security Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to information security, privacy, and data protection. Conduct security audits and assessments to assess compliance with security policies and procedures. Provide guidance and recommendations to address compliance gaps and improve security posture.

  • Security Awareness and Training: Develop and deliver security awareness training and education programs to increase employee awareness of security risks and best practices. Promote a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

  • Security Risk Management: Assess security risks and threats to the organization's systems, networks, and data. Develop risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize the impact of security risks. Monitor and report on security risk posture to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Security Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies through research and industry collaboration. Evaluate new security tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance the organization's security posture and resilience against cyber threats.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of X years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, and standards.

  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, SIEM, and vulnerability assessment tools.

  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and PCI DSS.

  • Hands-on experience with incident response, digital forensics, and security incident management.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) preferred.
