Works with other accountants, financial analysts, and computer specialists to develop, implement, and modify accounting and financial management systems to meet the organization's needs. Serves as a financial analyst performing a variety of assignments related to administering accounting and financial system operations. Analyzes accounting and finance issues and proposes or modifies policy for organizations served. Provides technical trend analysis for management decision making and evaluation of possible problem areas. Identifies accounting and finance needs not met by the prescribed system, recommends improvements in accounting and financial procedures or services, and submits systems change requests. Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying automated systems design and processing principles, techniques, policies and regulations to financial and accounting systems; recommending financial system requirements; and analyzing and evaluating finance and accounting operations (i.e., processes, systems, internal controls, procedures, etc.) Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
