Summary: The Senior Manager, Perception Analytics, and Insights is an experienced pharmaceutical industry professional who leads a team of highly skilled analysts in the production of meaningful, actionable insight reports that drive decisions across the organization. The manager will partner with US counterparts and serve as a strategic partner to oversee the execution of key deliverables spanning field medical insights and social media reactions for key product launches, pharmaceutical congresses, and other ad hoc priorities. The manager will be overseeing individual contributors directly and is responsible for deliverables, goal setting, performance management, and coaching. The manager also has a strong analytical background, strategic thinking, and communication skills enabling hands-on contributions to ensure a productive, effective, and functioning team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the team to deliver analytical and reporting solutions in agreed-upon timeframes and budget while ensuring an overall high quality of work that adheres to analytical best practices.

  • Closely work with the US counterpart, other Medical Analytics colleagues, business, and IT stakeholders in understanding, scoping, and designing deliverables.

  • Lead workload prioritization to successfully achieve business objectives.

  • Cultivate an environment of constant innovation that encourages opportunities for further expansion of our analytics capabilities, including leveraging emerging AI technologies in partnership with IT and BIA colleagues to help accelerate analyses.

  • Play a significant role in managing, mentoring, and developing our analytics team, including designing career development opportunities, and creating a culture of connectivity and meaningful work within the team.

  • Lead the creation of and contribute as needed on key analytic deliverables across both MED sights and social media, including launch reporting, congress coverage, ad hoc requests, medically relevant press releases, and longitudinal analyses. Ensure that all reports are high-quality, timely, and tailored towards topics of strategic importance and key business imperatives.

  • Oversee and manage all technical tasks performed by the analytics team, including maintenance/enhancement of Tableau dashboards, business rules, mapping documentation, automated processes, and more. Coordinate with the iMAP and other back-end data teams as needed to ensure the smooth flow of data into all downstream reports and processes.

Skills and competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information into easy-to-digest written formats.

  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and manage a heavy workload across multiple competing priorities.

  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and business acumen, with the ability to identify and synthesize key findings from disparate data sources to provide recommendations.

  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of qualitative design, data analysis, and applied statistics.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to drive collaboration and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Experience

  • BA/BS minimum degree. Advanced degree preferred. Special consideration for advanced degree in life / physical sciences (biology, chemistry, physics), applied sciences (computer science, mathematics, data science), or engineering.

  • 7 years career experience preferred, including 3+ years of experience in data analytics.

  • Experience with managing, leading, and developing highly technical teams supporting global enterprise.

  • Experience working successfully with senior stakeholders in a matrix environment, including articulating value propositions, challenging assumptions, balancing trade-offs, and managing demand. The ability to manage competing priorities is a must.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information into easy-to-digest written formats.

  • Clinical or pharmaceutical / healthcare industry experience preferred.

  • Deep understanding of how data can be used to answer critical business solutions and develop creative solutions.

  • Understanding of different analytics and data visualization methodologies, with an emphasis on text analytics. Experience with integrating new tools and methodologies into complex data environments would be a bonus.

  • Understanding of sourcing social media data (Twitter/X) from external sources.

  • Proficiency with MS Office

  • Proficiency in interactive and collaborative workspaces (e.g. SharePoint, Domino)

  • Proficiency with predictive analytics software and methodologies (e.g. R, Python, SAS)

  • Proficiency with text analytics software and methodologies (e.g. BioBERT, SciBERT, Luminoso, KANA)

  • Proficiency with data visualization software (Tableau).

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
