Cimarron Software Services, Inc. Systems Engineer in Huntington Beach, California

Cimarron is seeking aSystems Engineerto serve as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead for an Electro-Optical (EO)/Infra-Red (IR) Mission Systems team in Huntington Beach, CA. The selected candidate for this position will support and lead the development of the onboard Mission Data Processor (MDP) for optical sensing systems.

This is an onsite position.

Key Duties:

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop, and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluatecustomer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
  • Perform systems engineering for the entire lifecycle of the product from ConOps/requirements definition to verification and validation, testing, and delivery.
  • Support project management activities, including schedule development, status reporting, and coordination of engineering and development activities.
  • Interface with customers, internal/external suppliers and partners, and executive management for technical collaboration, reviews, and reporting of status.
  • Leadanalysis to optimize the total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Leadand coordinateanalysis for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Lead, develop, maintain,and identifyimprovements for the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of the requirements management processes, software configuration management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Planand leadresearch projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

TRAVEL REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SSBI Clearance.
  • 5 or more years of technical leadership experience.
  • 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.
  • 3 or more years of project management/project engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited course of study.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • 10 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
  • Experience writing requirements for electrical/electronic, software, and firmware systems.
  • Experience developing electronic products for space-based applications.
  • Experience writing board-level requirement specifications for Printed Wiring Board (PWB) and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA).
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
  • Experience providing systems engineering for research and development contracts.
  • Experience as a chief engineer or systems engineering IPT lead for software avionics/avionics/electrical design.
  • Experience developing avionics for airborne and space applications.
  • Master's degree or higher.
