BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a full-time board certified or residency trained Veterinarian - Internist to join our new, state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital.

We are looking to expand our current Internal Medicine department due to high caseload and growth of the service. Our new hospital will be located within a few miles of downtown Birmingham, near the Galleria in Hoover, AL. We plan to provide multiple specialty services in the new hospital and currently offer Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology. Once the new hospital is complete it will be open 24/7 to provide Emergency Services. The hospital facility will be approximately 10,000 sq ft with a tentative occupancy in mid-late 2022.

Our ideal candidate would be a team player with an interest in growing Internal Medicine in the Birmingham hospital. We have a very collaborative, open working environment. The Internal Medicine service has 4 highly qualified, dedicated technicians experienced in Internal Medicine.

Full time or part time employment will be considered. There is a sign on bonus available for full time employment.

The Internal Medicine practice is currently located on Lake Valley Drive in Hoover, AL and was established in 2005 as Birmingham Veterinary Internal Medicine. It later became a BluePearl Hospital in 2020. The Internal Medicine practice is referral only. Typical procedures include abdominal ultrasound with percutaneous needle tissue biopsy, echocardiography, endoscopy, thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis and cryotherapy. The practice is well equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, electrocautery and surgical monitoring instrumentation.
