Job Description:

The City of Hampton Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Deputy Sheriff. The Deputy Sheriff will play a vital role in maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and serving the citizens of Hampton with dedication and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

1. Enforce federal, state, and local laws to maintain public safety and order.
2. Patrol assigned areas to detect and prevent criminal activity.
3. Conduct investigations into criminal offenses, accidents, and other incidents.
4. Serve warrants, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
5. Respond to emergency calls and assist as needed.
6. Conduct interviews, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
7. Assist with crowd control and traffic management during special events.
8. Provide courtroom security and testify in legal proceedings as required.
9. Maintain proficiency in the use of firearms, defensive tactics, and other law enforcement techniques.
10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
11. Build positive relationships with community members and other law enforcement agencies.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. Must be 18 Years of Age
3. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in stressful situations.
6. Physical fitness and agility to perform duties effectively.
7. Sound judgment and integrity in handling sensitive information and situations.
8. Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
