Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Job description summary:

  • GE HealthCare MI SPECT/CT SW department is looking for an outstanding Senior Software Development Engineer in Test for its software quality team.

  • In this role, you have the opportunity to develop challenging software modules within complex and advanced environment for improving the quality of a unique medical device solution.

Job responsibilities:

  • Understand the requirements of software projects and build test plans appropriate to those requirements.

  • Understand the software architecture of the team deliverables; participate in design discussions.

  • Write clean, high quality, solid, readable code that scales.

  • Comply and align with software development professionalism standards within the team.

  • Communicate clear needs for implementation modifications with the design teams.

  • Work closely with Applications, System and V&V Engineers.

  • Evaluate overall system technical ability to meet the performance, functionality, and reliability goals.

  • Assess system-level risks, requirements, and possible failures to generate an integration strategy.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with minimum 5 years of experience.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on Python software development experience.

  • Hands-on experience with C++/Java software development.

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.

  • Strong understanding of multithreaded code, synchronization methods and high-performance computing.

  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.

  • Robust debugging, optimizing and unit testing skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence without authority.

  • Highly self-motivated learner and able to understand tasks on own initiative.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux based programming.

  • Hands-on experience with Front-End development using Angular or similar framework.

  • Experience with modern CI/CD frameworks like Jenkins, Git Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.

  • Understanding of networking, TCP/IP, gRPC, REST, SQL commands and DBs and Scripting.

  • Experience in developing for SW/HW integrated systems (such as medical devices).
