Description:

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our current team of 2 on a contract-to-hire model. These 2 individuals on the team are Admin level and they are looking for an Engineer level resource to join the team. We are migrating from Cisco workshop to Aruba but we understand that commands and through processes are very similar and we are open to candidates who come from a cisco background .

Candidates need to be proficient in enterprise network routing/switching, troubleshooting, and documentation. We currently use Microsoft Visio and need help with documentation of our network layout. We need diagrams that shows the current layout and need to make updates when something is deployed or designed. This engineer will export configurations and show other LAN Admins how that works.

Our network team is responsible for taking escalated tickets (Solarwinds ticketing system) for any network related issues, troubleshooting wireless issues, new deployments and replacement of old devices, looking at configs and making sure configurations are backed up. Routing protocols – OSPF, BRG, EIGRP. This team also handles TCP/IP, Internet, Token Ring, Routers, Bridges, Gateways, Hubs, Bay Networks Synoptics, Multiple Display, Modems, Muxs, Virtual Switches, Minicomputers, Printers, Cabling, WAN links, Network sniffers, VOIP and wireless.

We are currently looking at vendors to help us re-vamp our core and firewalls, the engineer will work closely with the vendor we choose.

Non technical skills

– documentation, people person, someone who can work well with a team and someone who can answer the more technical questions to take some load off the Manager. The Network Manager also the manages the Desktop and Telecom teams.

Shift:

Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm

There is project work that has to be done outside of normal business hours on occasion, with one person on call at all times

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Understanding of network infrastructures, operating system: network security and network configurations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Understanding of TCP/IP and non TCP/IP network protocols, wireless networks and security, Wep, WAP, TKIP and any other related wireless network security.
