Sales Tax Accountant ’s Primary Purpose will be to :

The position is responsible for filing sales tax returns for USA and Canada and must ensure that sales invoices and vendor invoices are properly taxed. Has ownership of sales tax software supporting 3 billing systems. Includes tax research and documentation, tax audits, 1099 reporting and other duties as assigned.

Processes utilize several software applications. This position requires accounting knowledge and understanding. There is a strong focus on internal control and efficiency.

Successful Sales Tax Accountant Will Provide the Following Key Accountabilities:

Sales Tax Returns

• Fileover 200 sales tax returns.

• Tax payments are made accurately and timely.

• Manage tax exemption certificates.

Systems

• Responsible for the effective and efficient use of multiple software systems to ensure accurate billing.

Analysis

• Support of accounting processes in terms of analysis, reporting, and error resolution.

Continuous Improvement/Project Support

• Identify and recommend efficiency improvements. Support assigned projects.

The Successful Sales Tax Accountant Must Meet the Following Minimum Qualifications:

• Entry level professional position with bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.

• Or 2-year degree (AS) with 5+ years’ experience

• Or No degree with 7 – 10 years year experience

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles. Solid understanding of general ledger transactions, financial statements, and accounting standards/concepts.
