Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Technical Services position has responsibility for overseeing product development, process engineering, compounding and uniformity sections of the factory. In this role, the Sr. Mgr. will assist the plant in improving performance though direct material cost reductions, abnormality improvements, development of new product and data analytics.

Typically, the Sr. Manager handles a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team leaders. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. This position requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise major problem-solving activity provide analysis and recommend corrective action alternatives.

  • Review and authorize plant specifications and standard practices to define process standards

  • Implement BSA procedures and specifications to meet government regulations and customer requirements

  • Organize budget resources required to meet objectives

  • Plan projects to optimize the productivity of product lines and achieve the highest quality for the lowers cost

  • Monitor and evaluate the status of quality/cost initiate and recommend changes and corrective action as necessary

  • Interact with engineering quality assurance and production in the coordination and implementation of new products design changes and equipment modification to the manufacturing environment

  • Support plant manager though development of reports, long-range plants, analysis, etc.

  • Conduct production performance and technical presentations to corporate management and customers

  • Coordinate long-range strategic plans regarding product development and processes

  • Takes a personal hand in solving difficult and unusual problems concerned with all phases of the tire manufacturing process.

  • Direct, educate, and develop subordinates for optimum performance

  • Manage the duties of the technical staff including writing reviews position specifications interviews, training, safety, promotions, performance evaluations, wages, discipline, attendance, manpower requirements, and work schedules

  • Develop a team orientated motivated workplace which promotes continues improvement, open communication, data-based problem solving, trust and decision making at the lowest possible levels

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; 8+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years management or leadership experience

Or Master’s degree; 6+ years of relevant experience including 4-5 years management or leadership experience
