Job Description:

The University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida is seeking a Biological Scientist III within the Department of Agronomy at the UF Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences ("IFAS") with duties and responsibilities to include---but not be limited to: developing, organizing, and conducting plant stress and mortality laboratory experiments, including on the physiological phenotyping platform, “plant array,”; designing, building, and maintaining ecophysiology laboratory equipment, including microcontroller systems and sensors; ensuring experimental execution, including reviewing data quality, conducting analysis, and interpreting results; assisting in preparation of grant proposals; collaborating with researchers and other professionals to conduct appropriate analyses, analyze problems, determine strategies, or recommend solutions pertaining to research needs; and coordinating, organizing, and prioritizing laboratory activities.

Position may work out of two separate locations in Gainesville, FL.

Minimum Requirements:

Position requires a Ph.D. degree in Biology or a closely related field and 2 years of relevant work experience in conducting laboratory experiments or other relevant research involving Plant Ecophysiology; a Master’s degree in Biology or a closely related field and 5 years of relevant work experience in conducting laboratory experiments or other relevant research involving Plant Ecophysiology; or a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a closely related field and 7 years of relevant work experience in conducting laboratory experiments or other relevant research involving Plant Ecophysiology.
