Job Description:

Breast Medical Oncologist at the University of Florida.The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time medical oncologist for a clinician-researcher track position in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant Professor rank or higher. This position seeks a board-certified/board-eligible medical oncologist with experience and interest in breast cancers and developing and conducting clinical trials. Applicants must be eligible for a Florida Medical License. This individual will have a primarily clinical assignment but will also be expected to develop, participate in, and lead clinical/translational research projects; embrace team-oriented research; engage in teaching students, housestaff, and fellows in the clinic and inpatient settings; and provide direct patient care at our Gainesville campus. A track record of prior clinical research and scholarly activity is highly preferred. Academic interests could include translational research, early-phase clinical trials, symptom management, observational studies, and/or health disparities.

Faculty in the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology are members of the University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in North Central Florida. The center is also the only NCI-Designated Cancer Center based at a public university in Florida. The UFHCC blends comprehensive patient care and innovative research in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, with members from 11 of the 16 colleges at the University of Florida (UF). UF is listed as one of the nation's top five public research universities, according to the 2023 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership, education, and research training through support from the UF Health Cancer Center, Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI), formal mentorship programs, and supported opportunities for teaching and research. The UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Research Office provides clinical research support.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a M.D. degree or equivalent and is board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
