Payroll Administrator

Performs a variety of record-keeping and payroll processing functions, including establishing/maintaining employee/payroll records.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead all payroll activities including process weekly labor, biweekly payroll, collect and audit/review timekeeping records, monitor Paid Time Off, and submit payroll batches.
  • Primary contact for payroll and responding to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll item settings for taxes, earnings, and deductions in payroll systems and make intercompany journal entries.
  • Responsible for ensuring payroll is accurate, timely and meets all regulations.
  • Responsible for inputting and processing employee data into JAMIS ERP, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, tax status, and other changes.
  • Calculate and pay Federal and State payroll taxes and/or prepare/review appropriate reports, including W-2s.
  • Review expense postings and department coding for payroll items monthly; reconcile and adjust as needed.
  • Remit payroll related accounts payable (401k, insurances, and garnishments).
  • Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
  • Performing monthly audit/balancing of payroll reports/entries and benefit provider invoices.
  • Reconciles 941, 940, and all State Wage Reports.
  • Documenting/updating procedures as required.
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions, including distributing mail; greeting visitors; answering the phone; answering inquiries and obtaining information for public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties; organizing/maintaining paper and electronic files.

Qualifications, Education Requirements, Preferred Skills

  • [Associate degree]{#_Hlk158648588} in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or other comparable discipline.
  • 5 years progressive experience in Payroll/Accounting. Working knowledge of payroll procedures. General clerical aptitude. Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.

``` - Experience with government contracts payroll desired (CBAs, SCA , multi-state). International payroll experience a plus. - Must be proficient and have experience usingpayroll software. - Ability to learn and use Jamis Prime ERP and JAMIS HCM/Humanic. (Experience with Jamis Prime ERP and JAMIS HCM/Humanic preferred.) - Effective oral and written communication skills to communicate credibly and effectively. - Strong computer ability to use the following programs: Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook. - Strong organizational and project management skills. - Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities with attention to detail.
