BAE Systems Manufacturing Technical Assembler II in Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Job Description

I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Support various production and prototype projects by using electronic/electrical assembly skills to complete production assembly operations on electronic/electrical and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as racks, modules, circuit boards, connector panels, and individual cables/harnesses

  • Use test equipment to validate system operation and checkout. Must have the ability to work from engineering drawings and read/follow electrical system schematics. Works independently, with minimal supervision

II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspects, tests, adjusts and certifies moderately complex assemblies, subassemblies, parts and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices following blueprints, schematics and inspection manuals using hand tools and precision testing equipment

  2. Performs advanced, diversified solder and electrical/electronic assembly operations to build detailed assemblies to meet specification requirements

  3. Collaborates with engineering, drafting, machine shop, and quality assurance to obtain clarification, resolve issues, and improve designs

  4. Responsible for the fabrication of cabling and connectors, testing, assembly of electronics, equipment setup and operation, gathering data, and documenting work

  5. Required to work closely with Quality Control to ensure that high standards of quality are met and will work with Engineering to help resolve technical issues and address quality concerns

  6. Performs other related duties as assigned

Occasionally exposed to disagreeable conditions. May work extended hours or weekends.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED and 4 year(s) related experience

  • Must have experience assembling small devices, wiring/soldering, and harness and cabling

  • Knowledge must be sufficient to coordinate and work with production operations, engineering, and personnel in related fields as required and to plan, accomplish, and analyze results

  • Skilled in the interpretation of technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems

  • Thorough understanding of electronics fundamentals to include operation and identification of active and passive components like resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, relays, and transformers

  • This position may require travel to support system installs and other tasks as required

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • J-STD-001 and or WHMA 620 certifications

Salary Min $37,000 - Max $56,000

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $36000 - $57600

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
