HP Inc. DevOps Manager in Fort Collins, Colorado

ACS (Advanced Compute & Solutions) is seeking a Business Operations Program Manager to lead ACS Business operations on our high growth, future-oriented businesses, including Data Science, AI and other emerging areas. This role will work with some of the most exciting up-and-coming products in HP.

The DevOps Manager will support the teams in building processes and structures to scale the business. Activities include establishing, executing and tracking processes to maximize deliver quality products to the markets to support business needs. To be a successful DevOps, you should have experience in the same or similar role, creating and implementing DevOps processes. You should also demonstrate great leadership skills and be able to communicate the vision of the company across all levels. Ultimately, you will ensure that are delivered in line with our strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of DevOps, QA and Support Engineers

  • Lead the design and execution of our CI/CD pipeline to improve the developer experience and productivity

  • Enable the development of modern cloud-native software, producing decoupled and highly-performant services to power revenue-generating solutions

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to engineering processes, tools, and procedures.

  • Develop and own your team's roadmap. Build rapport with the broader engineering team to inform your priorities.

  • Codify, maintain and improve testing processes to ensure high quality and maintainable code

  • Optimize architecture for security, scalability, reliability, and resiliency

  • Leverage technologies to drive innovation and minimize timelines

  • Collaborate across business and technical partners to define requirements, dependencies and challenges, mitigating risks and removing blockers

  • Promote a culture of collaboration and learning across engineering, product, and design team via mentoring, documentation, presentations, or other knowledge sharing methods.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Have at least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Network Engineering, technology management, or related field of study, and 5 years of experience working as Site Reliability Engineer or in a related occupation.

  • 3+ years of experience running an engineering team

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 7+ years of progressive software engineering, including 2 years as a team lead and/or people manager.

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, empower, organize and communicate across distributed teams.

  • Significant professional experience standing up infrastructure with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools, building CI/CD pipelines, and containerizing applications with Docker

  • Deep expertise authoring automation using scripting languages such as bash

  • Track record deploying and supporting complex technical solutions across multiple applications, balancing build and run considerations.

  • Deep technical competency and thought leadership; flexibility to leverage existing proficiencies or adopt new frameworks.

  • Relational and non-relational databases; functions and containers

  • Delivery, security/compliance and automation via edge cloud platforms

  • Excellent at managing ambiguity. Masterful ability to break down big, messy problems (demanding requirements, bugs, etc.) into smaller parts with tractable solutions and clear iterations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $134400 - $180000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
