Job Summary and Responsibilities We are seeking an Estimator - Wireless Heavy Construction, Civil and Underground to join our team. Estimator responsibilities include evaluation of bid specifications and drawings, ensuring everything is known and included in estimates to successfully bid and win projects. Estimator duties also include turnover to project management teams and to follow up on bids and budgets to develop a successful project strategy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Heavy Civil Construction Estimator for commercial construction projects which include estimating for underground utilities (Fiber, Power, Sewer, Water, etc.), trenching, directional boring (multiple types), excavation, concrete/asphalt repair and replacement (sidewalk, concrete, curb and gutter) grading, demolition, erosion control. Create detailed cost estimates arranged to follow the pricing format required by the project Research pricing for estimates based on historical and regional costs Provide high level scoping of the project to create the estimate summary and outsourcing control worksheets Lead outreach to subcontractor and supply community directly Visit project work sites, participate in pre-proposal meetings, clarify scope of work, and prepare RFI's (as required) Prepare written statement of qualifications and/or proposals that respond directly to project owners' requests for qualifications and requests for proposals Evaluate projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings Understand and seek out specialty subcontractors and suppliers that fulfill the unique requirements of a project Develop and/or manage the development of a preliminary bid schedule Develop self-performed estimates for the trades that we choose to self-perform Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders through the bid process to understand and capture the complete scope of each trade in the scope summary sheets and the estimate at large Accurately utilize project plans and specifications to identify scopes of work, assign crews, schedules, materials, and subcontracting opportunities Manage bid receipt of subcontractor and supplier pricing to develop final selling price and offer Work on a preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the Plans and Specifications utilizing Primavera Contractor software Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the estimation team, management team, sub-contractors, and laborers. Keep a positive attitude & set an example as a leader that all crew members enjoy working with. Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 7+ years of proven experience in Commercial - Civil Construction industry with a focus on underground utilities, trenching, directional boring, concrete, asphalt, and earth work. Experience in the wireless service construction-related industry a plus. Experience in electric vehicle charging infrastructure design or installation (light-duty through heavy-duty) and charging equipment (Level 2 and DC Fast Charging) Comprehension of construction processes, including familiarity with construction materials and estimating quantities QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read site plans and develop cost estimates and bill of materials efficiently. Advanced MS Office skills, ability to develop advanced MS Excel scoping and bid templates, create customer specific quote templates Works well in a team environment and possesses excellent communication skills. Organized, self-motivated, fast learner, able to multitask and meet deadlines. Communicate effectively with the sub-contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project. Proven capability to assist with strategic and long-range plans across a wide scope within an organization. Capable of interfacing well at all levels within a large organization and client base Excellent Project management, planning, and organizational skills Well Rounded Understanding of Wireless Program/Project lifecycle and supporting critical Business Operations functions, checkpoints, and Milestones. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organization, motivation, and interpersonal skills High energy, with a strong 'can do' attitude.
