Charter Communications, Inc. in Englewood, CO seeks Principal Wireless Engineer I to conduct planning, forecasting, implementation and identification of resource requirements for wireless network systems. Support projects, systems, and issues surrounding network planning, configuration, and optimization for validating end-to-end functionality on multiple Wireless devices. Design and establish protocol compatibility standards, develop and implement network enhancements, architecture, and designs, and make recommendations for improvement. Contribute to requirements planning, network architecture design and engineering. Coordinate Mobile Device Wi-Fi Spectrum Features Certification and communicate with Mobile vendors as well internally with different Project and Program Managers. Integrate and schematically depict communication architectures, topologies, hardware and software, Wi-Fi transmission and signaling links, and protocols into complete network configurations that can be reflected to Mobile Wi-Fi Features. Evaluate new Mobile Device products and handle problem reporting through resolution. Develop and document Mobile device Wi-Fi technical requirements based on standards. Design and establish Mobile Wi-Fi Certification process following 3GPP, IEEE, WiFi Alliance and major US Carrier operator practices and technical specifications. Provide escalated tier support across organizations and to third party vendors. Test Wi-Fi devices in a lab environment. Perform account and SIM provisioning.

Requires Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering or a related field. 4 years of experience testing Wi-Fi devices in a lab environment utilizing PCAP log analysis, Wi-Fi emulation test devices, regular commercial Wi-Fi devices, Wi-Fi test bench design and validation, and including 2 years of that experience utilizing Network Analyzers. 3 years of experience handling and interpreting 3GPP and IEEE technical specification documents and referencing the documentation for debugging. 2 years of experience performing end-to-end provisioning, including account creation, handling subscriber database, and Mobile SIM provisioning. A hybrid (in office and remote work) arrangement is available.

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $136,198/year.
