Join the AWS Telco Industry Solutions team in a pivotal role that redefines the consumer experience within the telecommunications sector. As a Senior Solutions Architect for Telco Consumers, you will spearhead initiatives that leverage AWS's cutting-edge technology to revolutionize how consumers interact with telecommunication services. This role places you at the heart of our mission to innovate and provide scalable, resilient, and flexible cloud solutions that address the unique challenges faced by global telecom accounts.

You will have the unique opportunity to work on reimagining consumer experiences by deploying IoT, Industry 4.0, Smart X solutions, and Digital Twin technologies. Your work will focus on de-risking and prototyping these applications, ensuring that they not only meet but exceed the expectations of Tier 1 operators and their consumers. By offering strategic advice, creating Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies leveraging IoT data, and consulting on IoT roadmaps, you will help shape the future of telecommunications.

Your role involves collaborating closely with customers to understand their needs and designing solutions that leverage the full breadth of AWS technologies. You will be instrumental in guiding telecom organizations through their digital transformation journeys, helping them to migrate existing workloads to the cloud and adopt advanced cloud-based solutions. As a trusted advisor, your ability to link technology with measurable business value and think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges will be key to your success.

Basic Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience, with profound expertise in IoT, Industry 4.0, Smart X solutions, Digital Twin, and IoT protocols such as TR069 & TR369.

• Experience in technical pre-sales for complex technology domains, including software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.

• Familiarity with machine learning, Gen AI, and developing business plans and technical strategies.

• Demonstrated ability to manage the technical delivery of multiple IoT projects and partner with business stakeholders to propose enterprise-standard solutions.

• Proficiency in IoT Cloud & Edge technologies, with a preference for AWS (including AWS IoT services such as IoT Core, IoT TwinMaker and IoT Greengrass).

• Expertise in IoT principles (message-driven architecture, security) and protocols (MQTT, AMQP), including experience with Edge modules and servers.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with Machine Learning and Data Science communities, preferably AWS ML technologies.

• Strong knowledge of Over-The-Air (OTA) update systems and experience in architecting and designing cloud-native applications, edge applications, and services.

• Experience leveraging IoT Edge, Containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge in PowerShell or Linux Shell scripting is required.

• A full-stack developer with ability to build demos and hands-on experience in the cloud.

• Experience in writing and publishing technical white-papers or patents.

• Design, implementation, or consulting experience in AI/ML applications, with emphasis on Generative AI.

• Experience in building data platforms including big data, data streaming, data-lakes, analytics, utilizing AWS native and partner services.

• Strong background in developing solutions using modern architectures (e.g., micro-services, containers) and DevOps tools.

Key job responsibilities

• Support global telecom accounts by de-risking and prototyping Smart X applications for Tier 1 operators.

• Offer strategic advice on Gen AI product creation and utilize IoT for Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies for consumers.

• Create beyond connectivity roadmaps for implementation and customization in collaboration with customers.

• Implement and adopt industry standards and best practices for consumer and enterprise IoT.

• Train and mentor team members on IoT technologies and best practices.

• Engage in AWS IoT service roadmap discussions, proposals, and presales.

• Acting as a trusted advisor for Telcos' digital transformation journeys.

• Drive business engagements to develop strategies for consumer and enterprise systems' migration to the cloud.

• Capture and share best-practice knowledge across the AWS community.

A day in the life

As a Senior Solutions Architect, your day involves collaborating with customers, AWS Sales, and various AWS teams to design scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business challenges. You will engage in strategic planning, technical discussions, and hands-on project leadership, with a focus on driving the adoption of AWS services in the telecom sector. Your role is pivotal in shaping and executing strategies to build mind share and broaden the use of AWS platforms across customer organizations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

  • 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals

  • Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

  • Profound expertise in IoT, Industry 4.0, Smart X solutions, Digital Twin, and protocols (TR069, TR369).

  • Strong experience in technical pre-sales across software, cloud computing, systems engineering, and security.

  • Familiarity with machine learning, Gen AI, business strategy development.

  • Demonstrated project management in IoT, proposing enterprise-standard solutions.

  • Deep knowledge in IoT Cloud & Edge technologies, preferably AWS IoT services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

  • 10+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures

  • Experience in a technical role within a sales organization

  • 3+ years of experience working with Machine Learning and Data Science communities, preferably AWS ML technologies.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market.
