Here’s the Gist: The Wolfspeed Materials R&D team is looking for a hands-on R&D technician with a strong attention to detail, reliability in manual processing, and capacity to quickly grasp and solve technical challenges.  

 

 

The Day-to-Day: 

  • Synchronize task status and problems with the team. 
  • Work with a team of scientists, engineers, technicians, and operators to create designs and procedures. 

  • Identify solutions to shortcomings in processes and design. 

  • Attain certification on all relevant processes and operations. 

  • Develop a comprehensive know how and best practice of our processes and materials. 

  • Reproducibly create test wafers using manual tasks and high attention to detail. 

  • Implement solutions to SiC technology problems. 

  • Perform calibrations and checks on process equipment.

  • This position will require you to work 12hr Nights.

 

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): 

  • Must be able to multi-task 

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent materials processing experience in crystal growth, wafering, polishing, or surface preparations 

  • Ability to work constructively with a team of manufacturing personnel, engineers, and technicians 

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Hands on mechanical skills and experience 

  • Computational skills towards manufacturing computer interfaces 

  • Strong team player, high energy, self-motivated with a “whatever it takes” attitude 

  • Basic computer and math skills, ability to learn statistical software (JMP or Access)

  • Able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate to others in verbal and written form 

  • Ability to read very small print and details, either with or without appropriate corrective lenses 

  • Aptitude for handling repetitive tasks
