We hope youll join us!UI/UX Designer - Contract This role is a remote, contract position. The timeframe for the assignment is ongoing, pending new projects. Ideal candidate will be located in the EST zone. We are looking for experienced and talented designers to add to our freelance creative talent pool. The UI/UX Designer will be working to establish atomic design systems for websites or other interactive platforms in collaboration with the larger project team. They will be a team player, with a solid understanding of web development and technology, CMS, UX best practices, ADA compatibility and have experience working on projects from small to very large. Candidates should possess mastery of digital design, the design thinking process, and a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality and delightful experiences that solve users needs. Key Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for user interface design of various digital products and business lines Collaborate with digital, marketing, business and technology partners to fully understand the requirements from a business and technical perspective Explore the competitive landscape and trends within any clients business segment and beyond Develop design vision and from there, atomic design systems that provide developers complete information to build upon the design system Prototype complex interactions and animations for demonstration and acceptance Create ADA compliant, mobile-optimized experiences that adapt to all supported devices and viewports Participate in the review and refinement process throughout the development lifecycle to ensure integrity of information and user experience Work with technology partners to ensure technical feasibility and flawless implementation of the design Explore new opportunities for the design system to ensure not only brand continuity, but its evolution to meet new user expectations Maintain a working knowledge of emerging user interface, interaction design standards and best practices Required Skills Expert use of collaborative design tools such as Figma and Miro Proficiency in presenting creative work and providing design rationale Flexibility to iterate on and negotiate feedback from collaborative partners in real time for exceptional customer experiences Effective interpersonal and communication skills Strong initiative and work ethic to meet critical project deadlines Comfortable working within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and collaborative creative environment Preferred Skills Experience across a spectrum of industries, including B2C, B2B and ecommerce Experience with agile methodologies Experience with web technologies (HTML/CSS; Content Management Systems) Experience and knowledge of ADA WCAG 2.1 AA requirements Experience with mobile iOS & Android Anticipated Tasks Review and understand Product Requirements and User Stories with CE team Provide ongoing defect management direction Create design solutions (strategy outlines and/or high-fidelity figma) and ensure brand standards are being met We encourage all interested candidates to apply and note that many historically excluded and underrepresented candidates often do not apply unless they feel they meet all requirements of a job completely.
