Amrock, LLC has multiple openings for the position of Sr. Data Engineer (Ref# SDEAMR).

Work Location:  662 Woodward Ave. Detroit, MI  48226.  

Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.

Job Duties:  Employ a variety of programming languages as the primary data developer across one or more project teams.  Design and build mechanisms to move, integrate, cleanse, and publish large volume datasets.  Develop and maintain infrastructure of data, including setting ETL processes.  Maintain data mapping specifications, including creating source-to-target data mapping specifications and updating mapping specifications as they change through the development process.  Design and support new and evolving sources of data.  Modify existing data sources.  Ensure data is clean, complete, and consumable.  Design data models. Design, develop, and support data and application integration processes.  Analyze business requirements and develop processes that provide visibility into data via the centralized reporting platform.  Ensure data storage processes are running optimally.  Develop reports to fulfill business needs.  Model application layer and metadata design. Design and create automated applications and reporting solutions. Ensure data integrity is maintained. Follow data management consumption best processes.  Monitor and troubleshoot production issues related to integration jobs.  Serve as subject-matter expert for advanced issues in an on-call rotation and production code pushes after regular business hours.  Research and promote new tools and techniques to shape the future of the data environment.  Mentor and train other data engineers.

Requirements:  This position requires a Master's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Analytics/Data Analytics, or a related field.  Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including IT Analyst, Developer, or related experience.  Will accept a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience.  Position requires 2 years of experience with the following tools/technologies/skills:  requirements gathering & analysis; Python or C# or R or Java; using data integration tools; performance tuning & testing; SQL or Oracle or AWS; and data integrity.  Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein.  40hrs/week.
