Project/Unit Description GTRI's Machine Intelligence and Spectrum Technologies (MIST) Division located at the Dayton Ohio Field Site, in the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL), seeks qualified candidates for the position of RF/Radar Systems Engineer. This position involves the development of radar modes for state-of-the-art sensors. Qualified candidates will have experience in radar mode development and signals analysis. MIST researchers provide our customers with cutting-edge expertise in machine intelligence and the radio frequency spectrum, developing solutions that aid our nation's defense. The Advanced Concepts Laboratory develops tailored solutions for a broad range of national security challenges through disciplined application of physics and effects-based modeling to realizable systems, augmented with prototype development and testing. ACL's research thrusts extend across domains, and include bio, chemical, RF, and optical-sensor physics; materials science and engineering; electromagnetic theory, computation, structures, and measurements; electronic warfare techniques and applications; operational scenario modeling and simulation; traditional and asymmetric threat analysis; and ground maneuver warfare. Job Purpose RF/Radar Systems Engineers work with a team to perform advanced system and algorithm development using established systems engineering approaches. Based on detailed trade studies and requirements analyses, radar systems engineers develop solutions to satisfy system requirements and perform functions related to all aspects of radar system design. These functions include the development of the complete architectural design of radar systems, investigation and development of new algorithms to advance key sensor capabilities by leveraging signal processing techniques and novel waveform development, development of detailed simulations of algorithms and systems for design verification or to facilitate operational software development, the design of sensor modes that maximize sensor per
