Dayton Children's Hospital Revenue Cycle Systems Administrator in Dayton, Ohio

Facility:Work From Home - OhioDepartment:Patient Accounts - Insurance BalanceSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:Provides system expertise, education, analysis and data management for the following applications: Clearinghouse, EPIC and other applicable software applications. Works collaboratively with information services, in addition to other departments as necessary.

Will serve as an administrator for clearinghouse software to help create and maintain updates, included but not limited to new users, edits, and security.

Provide oversight as an administrator to all payer web portals, included but not limited to new users and security.

Serves as the gatekeep Revenue Cycle equipment needs, including maintaining inventory control of equipment, ordering new equipment when needed, and collaborating with IT business partners for additional equipment needs.

Will gather and analyze data from multiple sources (e.g. EPIC, data analytic systems, clearinghouse reports) to extract trends and business insights.

Department Specific Job Details:

Education:

High School Diploma/GED + 5 years of progressive experience in a similar role required

Associates degree in related healthcare or business preferred.

Experience:

3 to 5 years required

Excellent communication skills. Basic computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft office applications required.

Knowledge and experience with medical billing / collections. required.

Epic experience required.

Data Analysis

  • Uses critical thinking skills to assess and evaluate various departmental reporting and data and determine appropriate course of action that may be needed. Ability to analyze data from various sources for possible trending, compliance or changes. Ensures analysis is thorough and accurate.

  • Utilize problem solving capabilities in the identification of root cause(s) and problem resolution. Communicates with Revenue Cycle leadership any issues impacting department processes and follows up on any system change request.

  • Additional activities may include but not limited to: database reporting, data collection and analysis of information, Revenue Cycle research and referral of accounts as appropriate.

Application System Management

  • Participate in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of Revenue Cycle applications.

  • Act as System Administrator for clearinghouse applications, including but not limited to, create and maintain updates, included but not limited to new users, edits, and security.

  • Ensures various Revenue Cycle applications functions are coordinated for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Maintain a detailed understanding and working knowledge of the current Revenue Cycle applications and systems; their functions and their relationship to other information systems.

  • responsible for maintaining system integrity for Revenue Cycle applications, in areas such as changes in user set up, data system enhancements and reporting.

  • Will act as a super user for Revenue Cycle applications

Policies and Procedures

  • Actively participate in the development of department policies and procedures. Review department policies at a minimum annually for accuracy and update as required.

System Inventory Management

  • Will act as a point person for system equipment requests for new hires or replacement equipment as needed for the areas.

  • Will coordinate with the front end Revenue Cycle System Administrator to set up direct help for system connectivity issues
