Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Responsible for management of Plant Operations Departments day to day operations in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.

  • Oversees work requests and assists supervisors in developing solutions for complex issues or repairs.

  • Administers the preventive maintenance program by determining work requirements, periodicities, and compliance with applicable Joint Commission requirements and regulations.

  • Manages requests for minor building modifications, obtains pricing and ensures adequate funds are available, oversees contractor work, and ensures compliance with budgets and applicable building codes.

  • Monitors staff knowledge and provides training or develops training plans as needed to address any shortfalls.

  • Implements changes in procedures and addresses/resolves personnel conflicts.

  • Establishes effective working relations with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors/contractors.

  • No direct patient care functions are provided by this position.

  • This position is subject to after-hours work and call back.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Ten years related experience with at least five years in a healthcare setting.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) within 12 months of employment.

  • Journeyman’s license in an engineering trade (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, etc.) or Air Conditioning technician certification is required.

  • An International Maintenance Institute (IMI) CMT-3 Certification is preferred.
