Overview

RF Technician (DETO-2023-19743):

Bowhead is seeking an RF Technician to support the technical and operational services in support of DE projects within NSWCDD E10 in Dahlgren, VA.

This position will require full onsite work at the Bowhead office of Navy installation - there are no remote opportunities for this contract

Responsibilities

Specific activities include the application of DE system technologies, deployment and operation of High Powered Radio Frequency (HPRF), High Energy Lase (HEL), High Voltage Electrostatic Discharge systems and existing Radar and CREW systems and technologies for CIED purposes.

Specific duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting with the design and installation of RF cabling and control lines

  • Assisting with the design, build, test and operations of CIED system

  • Support laboratory test and operations

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

This position will require full onsite work at the Bowhead office of Navy installation - there are no remote opportunities for this contract

  • A Bachelors degree is preferred.

  • Five (5+) years of experience in the operation, troubleshooting and repair of a wide variety of RF components and electromagnetic sensors is highly desired.

  • At least three (3+) years of experience using Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers and other RF and non-RF measurement equipment, RF supporting instrumentation, High Voltage systems and component selection is highly desired.

  • Must have valid Drivers Liscense, and the ability to obtain a valid forklift license and to pass a DOT physical is required.

  • Must have demonstrable experience in setting up laboratories and conducting laboratory and field tests is also required.

  • Must have experience or knowledge with high voltage and high electric field testing.

  • Having a valid electrician license is highly preferred.

  • Must have experience and familiarity with outboard motor operation and minor diagnostic and repair.

  • Must have experience with diagnostics using multimeters, physical examination and typical tools like WAF, PUPFAC, and similar.

  • Must have previous experience with operation including turning on, turning off, setting up and refueling (i.e., connecting & disconnecting the fuel line to the gas can) and RF testing

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level, however candidates with an active Secret clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
