Ulland Brothers, Inc., is a Civil/Highway-Heavy, aggregate and site development contractor with offices in Carlton, Virginia and Albert Lea, MN. Ulland Brothers has operated in the construction industry for over 100 years. Ulland Brothers has an immediate opening for the position of Grading Utilities Superintendent. The position of Grading Utilities Superintendent reports directly to the General Superintendent. The Grading Superintendent is primarily responsible for project safety, management and leadership to complete our projects on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent Ulland Brothers in a professional manner
Interface and maintain a good relationship with owners, inspectors, prime contractors, subcontractors and the general public
Be a partner in the development, recruitment and retention of our workforce
Oversight of Project Safety including but not limited to:
Implementing Ulland Brothers Safety Policy
Pre-task Plans/JHA Safety Paperwork
Inspecting and monitoring of traffic control layouts and devices
Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
Accident / incident prevention and reporting
Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings
Be familiar with the current Standard Specifications for Construction
Read, know and understand the Project Plans and Specifications
Set and monitor daily production goals in accordance with estimate and budget
Schedule project personnel, equipment, and material needs to utilize our resources to their fullest potential
Monitor equipment for maintenance and repair
Complete daily administrative work as required on the project. (time cards, daily logs, work reports, etc.)
Attend industry related training programs
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience in construction field operations
The ability to effectively communicate with all parties involved
Computer skills and the ability to utilize the latest advances in technology
Accurate record keeping
Reading and understanding plans and specifications
Ability to work independently and follow direction
Honest, consistent and reliable
Mechanical abilities are a plus
Acceptable driving record required
