Peerless Technologies Corporation Systems Administrator in Cleveland, Ohio

The Selected candidate will perform application system integration, management and security support for multiple applications and systems within the NASA John Glenn Research Center. This will include day-to-day operational support of "Purchased (COTS) and Customized" software and the implementation and compliance of all applicable security policies. In addition, there is a potential of performing DBA tasks in support of application/database Oracle and SQL systems. Duties include:

  • Perform the daily operational support of applications/systems.
  • Build, install, configure, and maintain various organization-supported software products.
  • Maintain current licensing, software updates, security patches, and all applicable government security policy and controls supporting the organization systems.
  • Adjust security parameters and settings when POAMs result in findings.
  • Provide monitoring of supported software systems and respond to service calls to troubleshoot, assess, and mitigate interruptions to system operations.
  • Provide System documentation to achieve system certification and accreditation within the Risk Management framework.
  • Familiarity with GIT, Jira, ColdFusion would be of benefit.
  • Perform daily responsibilities in monitoring Oracle and SQL and incorporate changes to databases to maintain operational support.
  • Assist with upgrading or patching the various applications/systems databases to maintain latest functionality and security recommendations.

Requirements

  • A solid understanding of installing, configuring and testing application packages including integration with platforms/infrastructures for a secure and reliable operational platform.
  • An understanding of implementing hardware infrastructure that includes servers, workstations, networking, and storage components. Experience in building and maintaining information systems for specific customer needs.
  • Strong System Administration skills on Windows systems, Servers, Active Directory, and Group Policy deployment. (minimum of 5 years' experience).
  • Good functional knowledge of network hardware, firewalls, server, and systems, with the ability to troubleshoot encountered issues.
  • Understanding of DBA roles and responsibilities in maintaining Oracle and SQL systems.
  • Strong communication, written and verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Experience applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to deployed software.
  • Experience navigating through Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) to remedy system vulnerabilities via patching, policy changes, and updates.
  • Strong teamwork qualities with the ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with peers, customers, and management.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; a combination of experience, training, or certification may be substituted.
  • Experience with SharePoint Administration and Development, Powershell, Oracle and SQL 2019, and is desired.
