The .NET Developer position is responsible for design, integration and implementation of applications software in a service provider environment that supports the company business strategies and objectives. The primary work for this position will revolve around accounting and production reporting from existing Sherwin-Williams systems. This is considered a mid-level .NET developer position and requires technical skills and expertise in .NET/C# and web technologies as well as a firm understanding of basic accounting principals. Work with our internal customers to find new and better ways to improve their information flow. Essential Functions Strategy & Planning Provide input and direction to solutions for client requirements. Continually work with clients to find new areas for process improvement. Recommend both technical and process improvements and solutions to senior technical team members for review. Maintain a broad knowledge of new technology and software development techniques. Acquisition & Deployment Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices. Design application and database components for large-sized development projects. Operational Management Maintain and modify web applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detail programming logic and coding. Provide support for critical production problems as required. Discover and investigate critical production problems as required. Incidental Functions Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components and frameworks. Handle projects and task management and reporting as necessary. Make presentations to management, clients and peer groups as requested. Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work. Schedule and lead project and communication meetings with clients. Formal Education & Certification Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience. Prefer education in a combined technical/accounting degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience 2+ years IT experience, preferably working on financial systems. 2+ years of experience working on all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. 2+ years of experience in an Enterprise Database Management System, preferably Oracle. Basic understanding of accounting principles to include understanding of Profit/Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and sub-ledgers. Knowledge of .Net/C#, ASPX, JavaScript and web standards markup. Knowledge of Model-View Controller (MVC) architecture integration. Experience with object relational mapping (ORM) technologies. Experience with client-based software development. 1-2 years of hands-on experience generating Unified Modeling Language, (UML) documentation preferred. Proven ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components constantly.
