Job Overview Assist in the management of a respective trade and perform master trade work. Essential Functions Serve as a working craftsperson. Act as lead worker as required. Serve as a working assistant. Perform duties of supervisor in his/her absence. Independently make crew level or "how to" decisions regarding work performed. Order supplies/equipment with supervisor's approval. Conduct on-the-job training. May be responsible for maintaining shop files. Perform related duties based on departmental need. Oils: There is air or skin exposure to POLS (Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants) or other cutting fluids. Atmospheric Conditions: Conditions that affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Close Quarters: Employees are frequently required to work in crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, sewage and water line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
