Keurig Dr Pepper Principal Engineer - Systems Integrator in Chicago, Illinois

Job Overview

The Systems Integration lead (Principal Engineer) will join the Keurig Dr Pepper Global Product Organization. This engineering lead will work on cross-functional teams, developing the next generation platform for Keurig appliances and leading product and technology integration from concept to implementation.

This position will require both technical and leadership skills to coordinate a cross-functional development team and ensure all engineering work is delivered on-time in addition to meeting cost and performance targets, while protecting the intellectual property created during the development. This position will have a significant impact on future products and will be in an excellent position for visibility and growth within the Keurig Dr Pepper Global Product Organization and Coffee Business Unit.

What you will do:

  • Lead the integration of new technologies and future generation platforms.

  • Translate stakeholder needs into system requirements and technical specification.

  • Contribute to creating Verification and Validation plans.

  • Lead engineering efforts with internal and external partners to meet appliance requirements.

  • Work with different subsystems to understand system performance trade-spaces, guide the technical team, and provide recommendation to leadership.

  • Be a consumer champion, starting with the customer and working backwards to deliver great products.

  • Leverage a broad technical expertise across electrical, mechanical, software, and connected systems.

  • Plan, execute and mentor engineers on Design of Experiments, component of variation studies, flowcharts, process mapping. Understand cause-and-effect relationship and apply problem solving techniques.

  • Support and/or drive continuous improvement in our internal processes.

  • Identify knowledge gaps and develop learning plans to address them.

  • Conduct FMEA reviews, create and analyze fault-trees and work on plans to mitigate technical risks.

  • Create and maintain design documentation such as CAD files, specifications, and reports.

  • Provide direction and mentorship for peers and colleagues.

  • Follow all Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures.

  • Ability to create and update Bill of materials, conduct structural and functional decomposition of systems.

  • Lead by example, being a role model for Keurig Dr Pepper core values of Team First, Deliver Big, Think Bold and Be Fearless and Fair.

  • Function as Team Lead representing all technical aspects of product development

  • Serve as systems expert within a cross-functional matrix through the Stage Gate Maturity events

  • Partner with a cross-functional team of technical, business, and manufacturing subject matter experts

  • Proactively identify and close knowledge gaps.

  • Serve as a technical interface with Asia-based suppliers and partners. Support and/or drive continuous improvement.

  • Partner with our quality organization to continuously improve products based on consumer feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Post-graduation in technical area and MBA is desired.

  • 12+ years of professional experience in a relevant industry, with experience in developing electro-mechanical systems from concept to production.

  • Previous experience managing projects or programs with internal and external resources.

  • Previous experience managing projects with high complexity and minimal direct oversight.

  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to coordinate activities with dispersed teams.

  • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma and Agile development.

  • Ability to conduct Tolerance-stack analysis and understand GD&T.

  • DFX tools, including DFM, DFA, DFS and Design-to-Value.

  • High volume consumer product design.

  • Experience performing FMEAs and developing Engineering Test Plans and verification methods are highly desirable.

  • Design for Six Sigma practices including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, A3, Design of Experiments, etc.

  • Statistics and design of experiments., as applicable to high volume product design and manufacture.

  • An aptitude for creating and presenting data-based trade-off studies as input to decision making.

  • Ability to present technologies and status of development projects to management and stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives at once.

  • Demonstrated record of making critical decisions driven by data that positively impact the organization's course.

  • Effective at mentoring junior staff members.
