Overview

Process Image Processing and 3D Mapping data storage per IT specifications. Monitor servers, move data to archive,

handle off-site data storage and ensure tape systems run smoothly. Install, move, and set up

systems/hardware/software as assigned.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

  • Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes. Receive direction on all aspects of assignments, specific tasks and how to execute. Work is thoroughly reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles.

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Work closely with more senior staff members to learn and assist in the Information Technology department.

Do the Work

  • Provide daily support to team by monitoring servers and promptly moving data to archival system with careful attention to detail.

  • Move, manage, and order tapes as required (including off-site/DR tapes).

  • Monitor and troubleshoot technical areas.

  • Prepare purchase orders for tapes and review invoices for accuracy.

  • Complete other department duties as required (such as software installations, etc.)

  • Keep all equipment and work areas clean and free of debris.

  • Document all work performed.

  • Perform all work in accordance with established procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate, relevant experience required.

  • Associate's degree or certification in computer science, IT, or electronics required, or relevant commensurate coursework or work experience.

  • One or more (1+) years of previous data management experience.

  • One or more (1+) years of experience with BackUp Exec or similar type of archival system.

  • Experience in data management, creating reports, or purchase orders preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Physical Demands and Working Environment

  • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.

  • Mobility around an office environment.

  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.

  • Occasional lifting from floor to waist height or carrying up to 50 pounds.

  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.

  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.

  • Manual dexterity as needed to use accepted tools of management, i.e., computers, computer monitors, mouse, keyboard.

  • Visual acuity, ability to read reports, contracts, instructions.
