Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for implementing innovative solutions to support business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, and implement enterprise-level IT infrastructure solutions, including server hardware, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud services, to meet business requirements and performance objectives.

  • Configure and maintain server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux/Unix) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to ensure optimal performance, availability, and scalability.

  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access controls.

  • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and minimize the risk of data loss.

  • Manage network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.

  • Collaborate with other members of the IT team to develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff, assisting with complex technical issues and troubleshooting escalated problems.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of our IT infrastructure.

  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure continuity of operations.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure.

  • In-depth knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux/Unix), virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS).

  • Hands-on experience with network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, with experience implementing security controls and conducting security assessments.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders, vendors, and team members.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are desirable but not required.
