The Building People Advanced Metering Program Manager in Nashville, Tennessee
The Building People, LLC, has a position open for an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program Manager who will be our primary representative and a self motivated resource to help lead our rapidly expanding connected infrastructure division. Our team, which already includes a nationwide presence in Master Systems Integration across the federal environment, has a number of opportunities to help build and expand an industrial/metering controls department, so this position will necessarily join an help lead an innovative solution (as part of our larger MSI team architecture).
As a key member of our building technologies infrastructure team, the AMI Program Manager is overseeing a multimillion multiyear program, segmented in sub-projects, for multiple customers, across a national portfolio. Working closely with the Customer, vendors and project personnel, the Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper delivery of the program for our customers. He / She has accountability for meeting the financial performance expected from the project execution in terms of revenues, profitability, and cash, while ensuring a superior level of customer satisfaction. This candidate should be experienced in, and maintain an on-going understand of, major commercial AMI integration software and platforms, and lead a strategy to integrate multiple disparate systems into those platforms. The candidate should also possess a deep understanding in (and experience with) electrical and mechanical systems such that he/she can direct a strategy to locate metering hardware mapped to the data and analytics use case we develop for the client. Additional Responsibilities Include:
Acts as a champion to foster a positive project work environment; and successfully leads the team to accomplish all the project objectives on time and on budget
Develops project manager(s) working on the program
Work with engineering team managers to identify the appropriate resources, to assemble the project team by brokering internal and external resources, and to assign and manage the responsibilities to fulfill the project requirements.
For their Program and project portfolio, deploys a solid governance to track project progress and to report on the health of the program/portfolio from all standpoints: schedule, financials, and customer satisfaction
Ensures that risk assessment and mitigation action plan are maintained
Manages escalations internally and externally with the customer
Applies solid problem-solving techniques to address issues
Ensures that resources forecasts are maintained to assure that schedule compliance and desired results are achieved.
Takes responsibility for growth improvement initiatives connected with the program
Takes responsibility for profitability improvement initiatives connected with the program
Leads by example, be a role-model for Project Management function
Required Experience & Skills
Experience with, and understanding of Building Control and Industrial Control Systems – in particular communication protocol and integration pathways
Experience with, and understanding of multiple utility and metering integration software programs and platforms
Minimum 10 Years of Experience in Building Technologies
Experience with building design and trade disciplines involving the management of critical building systems
Experience with conducting site visits and assessments at client facilities
Experience with assessing conditions of energy infrastructure, including metering systems, such as age, quality, quantity, and vulnerability
Experience with collaborating with customers, trade contractors, building inspectors, and building service providers
Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to obtain a basic civilian security clearance
Preferred Experience & Skills
Experience with conducting building energy audits or facility condition assessments
Knowledge of environmental, sustainability, and energy efficiency regulations, executive orders, and consensus standards
Experience working with diverse project types and technologies
Experience with Federal government agencies, including EPA, GSA, or DoD
Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups
Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
Possession of excellent problem-solving and project skills
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
