Job Description

Olympus Global Internal Audit team comprises 60-70 auditors incorporating skills in finance, internal controls, SOX, IT, Compliance, operations, data analytics, non-financial metrics, and business consulting. Our ambition is to be a world class Internal Audit function supporting Olympus’s objective of being the leading medical technology company in the world. To help us deliver this ambition, we are recruiting a Manager of Internal Audit - Americas and Global IT Audit Leader. The Manager’s primary responsibility is to protect the company’s assets by planning and completing global information technology audits and special projects. They will also expect to recommend process improvements, provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to review and appraise the soundness, adequacy and application of IT governance and risk management.

Specific areas of focus in information technology include practices around: Governance, general controls, project management, infrastructure, software development lifecycle, application security, emerging information security and cybersecurity risk, cloud architecture and controls related to applications hosted in the cloud, data lifecycle management, data privacy, disaster recovery and business continuity.

The Manager, Internal Audit - Global IT will also oversee a variety of ad hoc assignments and special reviews as request by the Director and as agreed with the Audit Committee and or Regional President and Board of Directors. With this appointment the Olympus IA function are seeking to augment its advisory capability in addition to deliver its continuing assurance program. This individual will be tasked with managing and delivering the annual global IT audit plans and special projects. The individual will participate in leading, developing/training, and retaining a team of designated IT audit risk professionals located across all five (5) regions.

Job Duties

  • Lead the delivery of the Global IT IA plan by working with key global IT personnel, ensuring that all locations in each of the five (5) regions are planned, reviewed, and reported to the highest quality standards.

  • Maintain business relationships with appropriate levels of global IT management to ensure that Audit is aware of changes in business activities and objectives, and a necessary Audit response is developed.

  • Coordinate and lead the execution of selected complex projects (IT Analytics, Continuous Auditing, etc.) in areas of specialization and expertise.

  • Provide ongoing coaching to Audit professionals of various levels and experience across multiple regions.

  • Prepare performance evaluations for IT Audit personnel.

  • Prepare the audit scope, work program, and testing plan for each IT assignment.

  • Provide direction to Global IT auditors to ensure that audits are performed in accordance with department and professional standards.

  • Review draft audit findings, and ensures issues are appropriately vetted and constructed given the circumstances.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of significant audit/IT/business experience either in public accounting firm or other finance/Internal Audit function including leadership or senior level equivalent experience required.

  • Professional accounting qualifications (CISA, CRISC, CISM, CIA, etc.) with significant post qualification experience.

  • Experience in corporate governance, IT risk and compliance.

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills - customer focus and drive for results.

  • Advance understanding and experiences of business processes.

  • Strong operational, IT an analytic skill.

  • Commitment to best practices and staying current on audit issues.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ambitious with desire to progress and develop into other roles in Olympus.

  • The IA function is globally based, and this role may involve travel (up to 25%) to our international business locations throughout North and South America, EMEA, APAC, China, and Japan.

  • Experience working on global teams and mentoring individuals in other regions.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the (Medical, Scientific, and or Manufacturing) sectors would be helpful, but is not essential.

  • Additional language capability in Japanese, German, Polish and/or Spanish, is a plus.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $90,243.00 - $126,339.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
