MISO Energy IT Operations Center Specialist in Carmel, Indiana

Location: Carmel, Indiana

Join MISO's dynamic team as an IT Operations Center Specialist, playing a pivotal role as the first line of defense for our critical systems. This position requires excellent leadership skills, technical prowess, providing a positive user experience through empathy-emotional intelligence, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. As an IT Operations Center Specialist, you'll oversee Enterprise Monitoring, coordinate technical response teams during significant incidents, and ensure exceptional customer experiences.

This position serves as the first line of defense to MISO’s critical systems, including the Control Room, the Business, Facilities and Information Technology (IT) systems. This position excels at IT Operations Center (ITOC) shift leadership for Enterprise Monitoring, including facilitation of significant and major incidents (major system outages to our most critical systems) in direct partnership with the Major Incident Lead.

In one year as our IT Operations Center Specialist , you will know you were successful if:

  • Monitored MISO's Infrastructure and analyzed alerts to initiate appropriate actions.

  • Provided Tier 1, 2, 3 resolution of issues to meet business demands.

  • Facilitated cross-functional technical response teams during significant and major incidents.

  • Ensured standardized methods are followed and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Established productive partnerships with other departments to enhance communication and situational awareness.

  • Provided guidance to ITOC team members and drive transformative improvements.

  • Proactively reviewed incident data to identify trends and opportunities for system enhancement.

We are looking for hardworking professionals who:

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 1-4 years of related IT experience.

  • Experience in enterprise or security monitoring, service desk, desktop, operations center, or administration roles.

  • CompTIA A+ certification required; CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA CySA+ preferred.

  • Experience in Cyber Security and Vulnerability Management.

  • Knowledge of NIST Cyber Security Framework and CIS Benchmark best practices.

  • Proficiency in Tier 1 - Tier 3 support.

  • Experience with Enterprise Monitoring solutions and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices.

  • Willingness to continually learn new technologies and processes.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
