JOB TITLE Building Learning Coordinator

CONTRACT DAYS 211 Days
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education (certification in special education preferred)
Standard Licensure Required (experience in special education setting preferred)
State of Iowa teaching certification
Mandatory Reporter: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse certification
Must clear criminal record check and child and adult abuse check (unless on Initial License)
Able to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work
Able to work independently and/or as a team
Able to recognize problems, determine causes, and take appropriate action
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides classroom-based support to colleagues (best practice and research-based instructional strategies)
Analyzes student learning data and provides guidance to colleagues within a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).
Serves as a liaison between collaborative teams, buildings and the district to analyze student learning data
Matches teaching to learning and ensures supports are in place so collaborative teams can function effectively
Plan and lead district level professional development
Assist with development of district-wide curriculum and assessments
Supports initiatives and district expectations for instructional practices
Engages in peer observation and Cognitive Coaching
Collaborates with district leadership to develop resources and processes for professional development for new teachers
Serve as expert in data team protocols including analyzing data and developing goals
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum/achievement goals.
Coach and train other school leaders in team facilitation through data team process /protocols
Consults with colleagues, students, and/or parents
Assesses the accomplishments of students utilizing multiple sources and provides progress reports as required
Diagnoses learning problems of students, seeking assistance of available specialists as necessary
Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
Attends staff meetings and serves on teams as required
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities
Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials
Keeps adequate student records as required by district
Attends in-service training and school meetings as appropriate
Operates in accordance with board policies.
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with others.
Completes district mandatory trainings as required

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Wage and work year to be established by Administration as outlined in the Teacher Leadership and Compensation Plan, and Memorandum of Understanding
Employment per Board Policies and Administrative Rules and regulations
Evaluation as outlined in the Teacher Leadership and Compensation Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with board policy and terms of the Teacher Leadership and Compensation plan
