Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Azure cloud engineer to join M&T Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing our current VDI infrastructure to help plan and deploy the future M&T Bank DaaS solution.

This position will provide engineering leadership to the VDI Team and oversee the design, migration, maintenance, and monitoring of the new solution. A thorough understanding of Microsoft Azure tenant architecture, security, configuration, and hybrid connectivity between on premise systems and the cloud environment is required. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical skills and leadership along with an ability to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with other internal technical teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement a highly available Azure/W365 DaaS environment for both Cloud PC and application service delivery for approximately 10,000 end users

• Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure/W365 cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and security.

• Provide technical leadership to the M&T Bank VDI Team for Azure Cloud Services.

• Routine collaboration with other M&T Bank internal technical teams responsible for the configuration, security, maintenance, and support of the Azure Infrastructure.

• Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation.

• Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.

• Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards.

• Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.

Education and Experience Required:

Combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture

4 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure/W365 in a medium to large enterprise.

Experience working within an Agile framework.

Strong collaboration with technology partners.

A team player mindset with an ability to thrive and effectively communicate in a fast-paced environment.

Enthusiastic learner with the ability to teach and mentor teammates and cross functional partners.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions.

Competence in a wide range of IT skills including networking, systems administration, data protection, information security, and virtualization.

Experience creating infrastructure design, technology road maps, and planning documentation.

Experience managing and implementing projects of a medium to large scale.

Experience with Jira and Service Now

Experience scripting with PowerShell

5+ years in a medium to large enterprise IT environment

Experience with Citrix and VMWare technologies

Microsoft Certified Azure Network Engineer Associate or Solutions Architect Expert
