Job Description:

Join our dynamic Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Team, the backbone of M&T Bank's technological prowess. As a key player, you'll be responsible for the seamless installation, configuration, and enhancement of CICS system software for z/OS and associated infrastructure. Dive into day-to-day administrative and support functions for all CICS environments, ensuring operational excellence, adherence to organizational values, and participating in cutting-edge technical research and development.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead architect in cross-functional project teams, driving design efforts and researching emerging technologies to keep the Bank competitive.

• Represent the Bank at vendor-sponsored conferences, providing thought leadership and evaluating industry technologies.

• Review and recommend training opportunities, ensuring continuous skill enhancement.

• Conduct maintenance activities, including patching, health checks, and adherence to operational standards.

• Troubleshoot anomalies, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

• Schedule system changes strategically to minimize operational risk.

• Provide after-hours support for project implementations and incident response.

• Facilitate discussions and provide guidance to less experienced team members during incidents.

• Drive automation to enhance system efficiency, manageability, availability, and security.

• Collaborate on capacity planning and contribute to long-term strategic goals for systems and software.

• Respond to and resolve incidents, identifying and implementing fixes in collaboration with vendors.

• Offer expert problem-solving for technical incidents and guide less experienced team members.

• Adhere to risk and regulatory standards, escalating issues as needed.

• Foster an inclusive environment supporting diversity and reflecting the M&T Bank brand.

• Uphold M&T internal control standards, addressing audit points and regulatory issues promptly.

• Complete other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills:

• Solid understanding of CICS concepts and architecture, with the ability to modify or install CICS components.

• Proficiency in the mainframe environment: z/OS, TSO/ISPF, USS, ACF2, VTAM, TCP/IP, ABEND-Aid, Xpediter, Strobe, and OMEGAMON.

Skills Required:

• Combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or related work experience

• Competence in JCL, SMP/E, CICS CEMT/CEDA/CECI commands, TSO, ISPF, and SDSF.

• Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to interpret and discuss technical information with various stakeholders, including senior management.

• Proven customer focus and experience managing multiple work priorities.

• Strong project management experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Programming languages: Assembler, COBOL, REXX.

• Strong experience with CICS System/Application debugging, tuning, and performance monitoring tools.

• Proficiency in CICS multi-region operation (MRO).

• Experience with CICSPlex and CICS Web Services is a plus.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $97,869.52 - $163,115.87 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
