AT&T Lead Solution Train Engineer in Bothell, Washington

Our “BSSe – Business Support System Evolution” program team is looking for a seasoned tech professional with a SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework) certification who is enthusiastic about sales, ordering, and billing platforms. The BSSe program is seeking to transform our sales, ordering, product/offer catalog, billing systems; deliver an omni-channel sales experience, and significantly reduce our overall cost structure. This role is primarily responsible for working with business clients and Architecture teams in defining the portfolio/product roadmap for the next couple of years. In addition, this role is responsible for managing and prioritizing the portfolio and product backlog. This person should have an intimate knowledge of the current state of the technology platform, and the needs of the business clients to envision future platform capabilities and support delivery teams in achieving the desired future state.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

  • Define and establish the portfolio vision and portfolio/product roadmaps in close partnership with business owners and architect leads.

  • Define/groom epics and forecast size/costs for each epic

  • Prioritize epics/scope using WSJF

  • Establish sequencing/flow via the portfolio kanban

  • Drive the Lean Budgets and Guardrails to ensure investment allocations are aligned with business outcomes.

  • Coordinate with Solution Train and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to ensure alignment and execution against portfolio priorities.

  • Facilitate Portfolio Sync meetings to track the execution of portfolio initiatives against strategic objectives.

  • Build initial budget forecasts that provide insight into costs and constantly refine those views as we get better estimates post scope/epic refinement on a daily/weekly basis.

  • Work closely with delivery teams to create progress reports on the product roadmap, epics, and features; Routinely create and present status slides to Senior leadership.

  • Participate across the program/project lifecycle to ensure each program increment has met its intended goal as defined by stakeholder specifications.

  • Work with business to coordinate launches, delivery timing and execution.

  • Manage escalations and issue management across impacted application/product teams

  • Negotiate Epic/ Feature commitments and tradeoffs

  • Lead the Lean-Agile transformation initiatives at the portfolio level.

  • Monitor and report on portfolio performance metrics to stakeholders.

  • Continuously explore improvement opportunities to enhance lean-agile practices within the portfolio.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Certified SAFe® Lean Portfolio Manager, Product Manager, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience in Lean-Agile environments and familiarity with SAFe principles, practices, and Lean-Agile frameworks.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead by influence and foster collaboration.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Experience within high tech, software and/or wireless/telecom industry.

  • Experience in prioritization, forecasting and work assessments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders

  • Experience in data analysis with emphasis on creating excel/power BI pivot reports/charts etc.

  • Key technical skills: Advanced Excel skills, Quickbase, MS Project, ADO (Azure DevOps), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), SharePoint

Our Lead Solution Train Engineer earns between $143,800.00-$215,800.00., Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
