Hybrid - 2 days/week on-site Boston, MA

1 year contract - likely long-term extensions

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical Salesforce platform customization and implementation project (Contract Role) for an apprenticeship solution for front-end and back end users. Reporting to the Undersecretary and receiving guidance from the Chief Information Officer, the PM will be responsible for overseeing the project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring the delivery is on time, within scope, and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management, stakeholders, and vendor.

  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools.

  • Identify risks and develop risk mitigation strategies

  • Engage and build relations with external stakeholders throughout the project life cycle

  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and external stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion and ensure that technical requirements are clearly communicated and understood.

  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

  • Provide regular status updates on the project to senior staff and stakeholders

  • Ensure that project implementation aligns with USDOL accessibility and data reporting requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management, with proven experience implementing Salesforce-based platforms

  • Demonstrable experience in managing IT projects

  • Experience in agile or other iterative project management methodologies

  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks

  • Familiarity with change management principles and the ability to manage organizational change effectively

  • Strong understanding of project management tools, and techniques.

  • Experience at working independently and in a collaborative environment.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Preferred candidate is enthusiastic, self-directed, creative problem-solver who has PM experience in public sector environment

  • Experience working with external stakeholders, including labor unions, workforce agencies, trade associations and private employers also preferred.

  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
