We are looking for a Test Analyst who has experience in manual software testing.You will be joining BT's Networks 999 team within voice services platform.

The key propose of this role is to test the systems used by the end users in Voice Services for the handling/support of 999, OA/DA and Relay calls.

What you'll be doing

  • Undertake testing from an E2E perspective on Voice Services releases, including production of clear and accurate Test Execution and Closure Reports

  • Managing own time to ensure testing is completed within the timescales of the overall release (target 100% to agreed timescale) and to a high quality (target is no P1/P2 faults detected in live that should have been detected in test)

  • Ability to Define, Produce and Maintain test scripts utilising agreed tools.

  • Deliver the testing requirements for a specific area deriving what needs to be tested.

  • Provide feedback on proposed test activities

  • Own, record and manage problems/defects through to a satisfactory conclusion. Test fixes and support the introduction of any workarounds. Deliver presentations to wider team where required

  • Identify blockers to completion and to progress resolution of them

  • Support & Maintain the availability of test equipment, including the building/upgrading of equipment needed to carry out the role.

  • Provide accurate, consistent and useful feedback to all parties involved in the release cycle with respect to errors, ambiguities, warnings and guidelines relating to both software code and release documentation necessary for the successful and timely release of new software

  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with both internal & external teams

  • Support other members of the Test team as necessary to ensure team targets and objectives are met

  • Keep up to date with changes to Voice Services systems, processes and procedures

  • Help identify, maintain and promote ‘best practice’ for testing

  • Is able to work with limited supervision and is proactive in approach to finding solutions and escalating when all other channels are exhausted.

  • Conducting peer reviews

What you'll bring

Mandatory

Either

  • Experience in manual software testing of User Interfaces, workstations, desktops or other relevant general experience.

OR

  • Direct experience in using the xAWS workstation to convert these skills into E2E test skills.

Nice to have (these skills can also be learned on the job)

  • A knowledge of the call handling systems would be advantageous, along with previous testing experience.

  • Ability to use basic Microsoft Office applications – Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint

  • Experience in a telecoms environment with Computer Telephony Integration testing.

  • Software engineering development for test tool development.

  • Test automation facilities.

  • In depth knowledge of the BT xAWS Workstation including software delivery, configuration management and the associated tools.

  • Knowledge of the backend systems that xAWS interacts with

  • Knowledge of the OA, DA, 999, Relay advisor procedures

  • Any accreditation or training in Software Testing.
