Carmeuse Americas Licensed Blaster in BATTLETOWN, Kentucky
Description:
Design, layout, prepare, and detonate planned explosive related blasts with correct products, measured quantities, safe application, and effective use of explosives to dislodge limestone from the mine in alignment with company policy/guidelines. The licensed blaster will inspect the blasting area and magazines, check equipment, and help maintain the area to ensure that all laws and safety regulations are followed.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Participate in the implementation of safety programs to ensure the safety of employees
Perform Pre-Shift inspection
Lay out pattern to and determine depth and diameter of blast holes and quantity of explosives needed
Load explosives in blast holes
Connect wire, detonating cords, fuses into series and connect series to detonate charges
Handle, store, track, and transport explosives in accordance with company policy and regulations
Maintain accurate data/records/documentation
Ensure compliance with health and safety and all related legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations
Other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED
Licensed Blaster in the state of Kentucky
