Job Summary

The Print software Platform Expert Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing activities for the Print Data platform specifically around the Data lifecycle, Data Requirements & Definition, Data Quality, Data Storage and Retention keeping in mind availability, performance, privacy, security & cost. In addition the Data Expert will be responsible for supporting customer facing HP Product and solutions and their vast number of use cases. The Data Expert makes data-driven decision and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Architects, Product Managers to drive the data as a differentiator to Print/HP.

Responsibilities

*Lead on the design for Data, focusing on scalability, performance, availability, cost and Data Quality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a scalable, secure and reliable Print Data platform.

Works closely with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities

  • Manages relationships with business partners to evaluate and foster data driven innovation, provides domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives.

  • Ties insights into effective visualizations communicating business value and innovation potential.

  • Works with development teams and business units to ensure models are scalable and can be implemented as part of the delivered solution.

*Translates stakeholder needs into product requirements and definitions.

Collaborates with stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization.

Translates user requirements into executable and workable feature items with the software engineering team.

Acts as an advocate for the stakeholders during specification and development stages.

  • Provides guidance, training and mentoring to less experienced staff members.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 10-15 years of work experience, preferably in data analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications

  • Programming Language/s Certification (SQL, Python, or similar)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Data Engineering knowledge with ETL platforms understanding.

  • Understanding of Print Data Formats would be an added advantage

  • Strong technical knowledge of software platform systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.

  • Adept at collecting and analyzing input from multiple sources (internal customers, product managers, engineering, architecture, and management).

  • Significant experience in software development, systems engineering, or software platfrom product management.

  • Ability to understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and remain flexible in the face of uncertainty.

  • Ability to not only communicate in software engineering specific jargon and non-technical language but also translate between the two.

  • Strong knowledge in DataBricks

  • Strong in PySpark and Python

  • Strong in SQL/MySQL, Relational data modelling

  • Strong Notebooks environment experience (Jupyter, DataBricks)

  • Fluent in complex, distributed and massively parallel cloud systems (AWS, GCP, AZURE)

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Jenkins)

  • Basics of AWS/Azure technologies

  • Proficient in using Git & Tera Forms
