Job Description:

Job Summary:As an IT Applications Leader within 3M's Technical Center of Excellence (TCOE), you will be responsible for leading a team of IT professionals in the development, implementation, and maintenance of applications that support the company's business operations. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, ensuring the stability and scalability of applications, and providing technical guidance to the team. Responsibilities also include evaluating and selecting the software and hardware necessary to run the application, as well as the tools and methodologies to develop the application

Key Responsibilities:1. Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

• Set clear goals and objectives and ensure the team's work aligns with the overall IT strategy.

• Collaborate with global EA leaders and product owners

• Budget responsibility for the team. Makes recommendations that impact how financial resources are spent.

2. Application Development and Maintenance:

• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of applications within the TCOE.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Ensure the applications are designed, developed, and tested according to industry best practices and standards.

• Monitor and optimize application performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.

3. Technical Leadership:

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and assess their potential impact on the company's applications.

• Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, helping them solve complex technical challenges.

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the TCOE, identifying opportunities to enhance application functionality and efficiency.

4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units, infrastructure teams, and external vendors, to ensure seamless integration and operation of applications.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs and aligning IT initiatives accordingly.

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing updates, insights, and recommendations.

• leads efforts in analyzing stakeholders’ requirements to help determine appropriate technologies

• Consults with suppliers, information technology network experts and users on how best to identify the best solutions

• Demonstrates solid persuasion skills and manages differing interests and perspectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

• Proven experience (X years) in leading and managing a team of IT professionals.

• Strong technical background in application development, with expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks.

• In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.

• Experience in driving innovation and implementing emerging technologies.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Project management experience and relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
