Charles Schwab Sr Specialist - Software Development & Engineering in Austin, Texas

Duties : Develop and execute (manual/automated) software tests to identify software problems and their causes; evaluate and design scalable and maintainable test automation systems using an existing automation framework, augmenting and restructuring the framework as needed; engage in Planning sessions to evaluate complex user requests, projects, objectives, functional and business requirements; work collaboratively with Development team, QA team and Architect in designing and building a robust, reliable and maintainable test suites; coordinate and participate in comprehensive E2E testing, including functional, integration, performance and security testing activities across multiple functional areas within and across multiple functional teams; collaborate with engineers across ASDD in researching test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes; and work closely with DEV and QA Leads in designing and developing CI/CD Pipelines for execution of test automation. Mentor associates and assist new team members in testing techniques and processes (Manual and Automation). Position allows for partial remote work (2-3 times in the office). Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $131,711 to $160,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related field and 3 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Requires 3 years of related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Build and Maintain test scripts for Manual and Automation coverage for unit, functional, and regression cycles using one or more tools such as UFT, Selenium IDE basics or Cucumber Framework; CI/CD pipelines implementation and application deployment using Atlassian Tools (Bitbucket, Jira, and Zephyr); Programming using Object Oriented languages (Java or C#), scripts (JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, and HTML), and databases (SQL and Oracle); Web Service and REST API testing using Soap UI and Postman; Agile work environment (Scrum and Kanban) Financial or Banking industry experience; and, Multi-platform (Windows, Unix and Cloud).
