Job/Position DescriptionThe Systems Administrator is selected by and reports to the HHS Manager of System Configuration Management Services (SCMS). The position provides leadership of the test function(s) of agency wide PC software and hardware deployments, coordinates testing with stakeholders, and manage and maintain computer test lab environment.TIER III supports PC configuration, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) administration and troubleshooting to include but not limited to troubleshooting software deployments, pc configuration(s) and group policies.This position will require occasional after hours and weekend work. Position is telecommute hybrid, Testing and other duties require on premise time that may be on short notice.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Develop Test process, procedures and schedules within IT and across multiple customers (25%)and#149; Develop test processo Define testing scope to determine participants to test solutiono Create process and procedures based on testing requirementsand#149; Develop test procedureso Define testing procedures to achieve testing results based on scope of projectand#149; Develop testing scheduleso Create testing schedule for participants based on project requirementsand#149; Develop testing reportso Maintain matrix to report progress of testing results and remediationCoordinate and lead software and hardware testing (20%)and#149; Software testingo Collaborate with IT personnel in effort to complete compatibility/functional testing of softwareo Document test results in accordance to defined processand#149; Electronic software testingo Lead the efforts to complete compatibility/functional testing of software in accordance with scope and requirementso Document test results to approve/reject proposed deployment software/fileand#149; Hardware testingo Coordinate efforts to complete hardware testingo Complete benchmarking test based on defined methodologyo Document benchmarking resultsand#149; Group Policieso Collaborate with other IT personnel in effort to test polices as they apply to software and operating systemsDevelop meaningful virtual PC templates that meet test requirements (15%)and#149; Test lab environmento Maintain, organize, and appropriately label virtual PC templateso Maintain a clean, organized and accurately labeled PC labo Install pre-built PC images and software packages to build custom test platformsTIER III support for PC configuration, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) administration and troubleshooting to include but not limited to troubleshooting software deployments, pc configuration(s) and group policies (20%)Conducts and participates in intra- and inter-agency meetings, technical forums, and IT workgroups/committees (15%)Performs other duties as assigned.
