Skyworks offers the industry’s broadest Timing product portfolio of crystal oscillator, clock generator, clock buffer, jitter attenuator and network synchronization products along with PCI Express (PCIe)-compliant clock generators and buffers. Our patented technology combines best-in-class frequency flexibility with the lowest jitter in the industry, delivering quick-turn, customized solutions that simplify board design, eliminate discrete components, and maximize system performance.

As an experienced technician for the timing lab, you will have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team composed of engineers and a lab manager. This elite team operates an ISO compliant, best-in-class lab that supports several functions, such as bench validation, device characterization, system testing, firmware regression benches and customer support. Core functions for the position cover debugging sophisticated board problems, reworking PCBs, lab maintenance, bench support, working on validation programs, running characterization benches, procurement of lab components, instrument calibration and other exciting work.

Responsibilities

  • PCB modifications of fine-pitch surface mount components

  • PCB rework of fine-pitch IC devices that include a center GND pad

  • Prototyping of engineering designed circuits onto evaluation boards

  • Assisting with validation and debugging of newly designed evaluation boards

  • Assisting with PCB schematic designs and coordinating PCB layout reviews

  • Maintain and extend software to automate testing of evaluation boards

  • Maintain and extend software to control lab equipment (i.e. instrument library)

  • Testing of pre-release software and logging issues into a bug tracking database

  • Maintaining an inventory of lab supplies including repurchasing of stocked items

  • Maintaining an inventory of lab equipment along with calibration schedules

  • Managing lab equipment calibration and repair needs with outside vendors

  • Works under supervision of a lab manager

  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues

  • Builds stable working relationships with the Timing engineering teams

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

  • Strong work ethic

  • Other duties as required

Education and/or Experience:

A technology-related Associate degree plus 8 years of related experience. A technology-related Bachelor’s degree can reduce the experience required.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $66,500 - $116,800 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
