Work with C S and SDS advising staff to explore new models for effective delivery of academic advising. Develop/support/assess current and new academic programs. Advise students individually and in groups. Implement, facilitate and manage academic advising programs including: Pods: learning communities for incoming C S first-year and internal/external transfer students. Elements of Computing Certificate. 5 Year BS/MS Integrated Program. Turing Scholars. CSB Honors.Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise advising center staff.Provide departmental leadership/faculty input on degree and program requirements. Oversight of C S and SDS petitions. Assist with projecting course demands, oversee course enrollments/registration procedures for C S majors, Elements of Computing courses, and SDS. Work with other CNS Deans Office and other advising units as needed.Responsible for working across constituencies to forge practical solutions to complex problems, for accumulating and disseminating academic information, and for interacting with faculty, students, and parents in the coordination of academic advising functions. Oversee/evaluate/provide reports to C S and SDS Departments and CNS Deans Office for: various admissions processes into the major, course enrollments, entry-level promotion, progress to degree and student success initiatives within Computer Science and SDS.Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.
